JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
SOS Children’s Village Albania is a private nongovernmental and non-profit organization, which makes every attempt to offer a permanent home to the children who have lost their parents or for several reasons have no possibility to live with them. The SOS Children’s Village also strongly support the children at risk of losing their families, and the families in need through implementation of different projects aiming at the further development of their capacities.
SOS Children’s Village Albania, is implementing a project titled “Youth Empowerment Enabling Prospects”, aiming at creating better employment prospect for young people, by promoting their social integration and increasing their active participation in labor market.
In the framework of implementation of this project, SOS Children’s Village Albania is looking for a suitable person in the position Case Management and Psycho-Social Support Specialist.
Duration of position till December 2022.
Requirements for the position:
- University Degree on Social Sciences or Economic.
- Work experience in case management and implementation of Self Employment component (Start Ups), for at least two years;
- Experience in working with young people and / or vulnerable groups will be considered an advantage;
- Experience in psychosocial support individually and in groups, additional education for psychosocial support;
- Knowledge of children's and human rights.
- Teamwork skills;
- Communication skills;
- Knowledge of MS Office suite;
- To have knowledge on using online communication platforms;
- Valid driving license B category;
- Solid knowledge of English;
- To be a confidential person and to adhere to the policies and code of conduct of the SOS Children’s Village Albania organization.
- To have sensitivity to work with a vulnerable category of young people
- Have an understanding and / or experience in recognizing risks and challenges with vulnerable categories in adolescence
- To have motivation and empathy for working with vulnerable categories
Main responsibilities:
50% of the time offering psychosocial support to youth as per need:
- Active work with youth to understand their professional interests and capabilities and what kind of support they need to achieve their goals;
- Work on motivation of youth so they become proactive in the employment process
- Provides psychosocial support, helps youth to increase their confidence, and to become aware of their self-worth and weaknesses (realistic expectations, real image of self)
- As part of the team participates in design of the objectives in the Individual development plan;
- To organize webinars that will support emotionally and psychologically youths
- Provides continuous support of youth to ensure they keep the job or that they progress in their efforts to find job.
- Strengthens the capacities of youth through individual sessions, if the need is identified by the team members (techniques, exercises and conversations)
- Develops a support network, and includes other services and resources as needed;
- Participates in outreach activities in order to identify potential beneficiaries or disseminate project opportunities;
- Participates in creating monthly, quarterly and annual activity plans;
- Participates in strategic planning and internal evaluation as per need;
- Gives proposals and takes initiatives to improve the work of the team
- Documents implementation of activities to contribute to successful monitoring of indicators and evaluation of project outcomes.
- To work closely with external expert for self-employment component in order to increase the competences of the young people in the field of entrepreneurship.
- Support external expert during the trainings and counselling with youth.
- To develop the criteria for the initial evaluation and analyse of applicants as well as to support the completion of all relevant documentation;
- To help the beneficiaries to set up and develop their businesses, as well as to ensure compliance with tax systems; to support beneficiaries with application procedures; to conduct monthly monitoring of their progress.
- To be able to discuss any aspect related to the start-up of a business and to support entrepreneurial youths as well as those who are in the early stages of creating their businesses, with any advice pertaining to the field of business;
- Provide real information for project beneficiaries on starting, growing and developing successful businesses.
- Performs other tasks (within his position) assigned by the superior
- Implements the policies and guidelines of the organization (Code of Conduct, Code of Ethics, Child Protection Policy, FSP Regulation, Anti-Fraud and Corruption Guidelines, etc.)
- Keeps accurate, document and saves all documentation for each participant in the Project
In the framework of child protection policy:
- Has the responsibility to protect children from all forms of abuse, abandonment, manipulation, violence and discrimination;
- Has the responsibility to report any suspicions, concerns, allegations or incidents regarding the safety of children immediately;
- Has the responsibility to act without delay; delay in action can lead the child to further risks;
- Includes the right people at the right time; reporting should be made to the child protection group at program level and / or to the line manager;
- Ensures confidentiality and sharing of information as needed;
