FIBER OPTIC TECHNICIAN

Purpose of Position:

Responsible for planning, monitoring, operation and maintenance of all fiber optic network, and the supervision of third party (Contractor) operations also.

Main Duties
  • Actively Checking and controlling Subcontractor Field Maintenance Teams, work quality, reporting standards, and other FO infrastructure criteria. Follow periodic reports on KPI-s and propose measures to be taken for network improvement;
  • Preparing reports with final goal improvement of FO BB network. (Investigation, verification of all "weak" points of infrastructure and FO cable itself and proposal how to improve them);
  • Working in finding utilization of all ODFs in Technology Rooms and register all local FO cables and update their utilization;
  • Supporting teams keeping FO network availability over 99.5%;
  • Supporting GPON project implementations;
Skills
  • Good knowledge MS Office;
  • Availability beyond working hours as well as on holidays;
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills to find and correct errors in the fiber optic networks;
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members;
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Very good communication skills and knowledge of English language;
Experience
  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar role;
Education
  • High School Diploma;
