About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our accounting team within the financial services sector. This entry-level position is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals looking to build a strong foundation in financial operations, reporting, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and general ledger entries
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare bank reconciliations and assist with cash flow tracking
- Assist in preparing financial reports, statements, and supporting schedules
- Handle accounts payable and receivable processing
- Support audits and help ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards
- Assist with expense tracking, budgeting, and forecasting processes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP knowledge preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or SAP is a plus
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
Preferred Experience:
- 0–2 years of experience in an accounting or finance role (internships acceptable)
- Exposure to the financial services sector is an asset
