Description
The DevSecOps Engineer role is to work with Software Engineers in the Digital Software Engineering Team. This team of Software Engineers build the next generation cloud native platform
Job Responsibility
The role of DevSecOps Engineer has the following responsibilities:
• Ensure that our development considers the latest thinking, patterns is software security development and best practice - providing recommendation, with user stories, approach and automation related to security
• Work in a DevOps team to develop new software projects against Communications Platform as a Service APIs to enhance the Vodafone feature set in the Digital Platforms
• Create software to solve Vodafone business problems in Digital Platforms
• Ensure that capabilities are deployed through a continuous development pipeline with security requirements satisfied at the time of deployment
• Engineer solutions on AWS and GCP using Infrastructure As Code methods such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Integrate, configure, deploy and manage centrally provided common cloud services (e.g. IAM, networking, logging, Operating systems, Containers) as well as shared service applications on cloud (e.g. Jenkins, Nexus, GitLab Runners, Vault)
• Ensure compliance with Operational risk standards (E.g. Network, Firewall, OS, Logging, Monitoring, Availability, Resiliency)
• Work with the cloud engineering teams and development teams to create effective CI/CD implementations, helping to configure and maintain them.
• Help with the release management of new software into the production platform.
Must have technical / professional qualifications
• A demonstrated ability to create software to solve business problems
• Any of: Java, NodeJS/ ECMAScript/JavaScript, Terraform, Ansible
• Unit testing frameworks usage
• Docker
• Microservices design patterns
• Infrastructure as Code
• Demonstrable Cloud service provider experience (ideally AWS) - infrastructure build and configurations of a variety of services including Compute, Storage, Networking and Kubernetes
• Demonstrable experience of Linux administration and bash scripting
• Experience of working with Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD) and continuous testing tools
• Experience working within an Agile environment
• Programming experience in one or more of the following languages: Python, Java, JavaScript
• Experienced AWS DevOps engineers with solid Terraform and solid programming experience in the named languages.
• Fluent English
