JOB PROFILE – Head of Accounting and Tax Department
Country: Albania
Location: Tirana

1. Overall description of the company

2. Purpose of the Position
Responsible for all areas related to IFRS financial reporting. Responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements and year-end audit preparation. Ensuring an accurate manner in accordance with Tax regulations is core priority.

3. Key responsibilities
Manages:

• The financial reporting and general ledger structure in line with International Financial Reporting standards.
• Accuracy and timeliness of closing activities.
• The timely preparation of the monthly TAX Reporting activities and any related analysis required including respective tax audits.
• Relations with professional service providers for compliance to fiscal and accounting regulatory requirements.
• Internal controls on revenue in accounting and sales books.
• Financial change management initiative including system implementation projects and associated process improvements.
• Audit review fields work and the financial statement external audit including the completion of audited financial statements, management discussions and analysis.
• The timely and effective implementation of the company’s Finance and Accounting policies and procedures.

Responsible for:

• The timely preparation and approval/signing of the declaration of tax commitments, payments, and other tax returns.
• Initiation of implementation of relevant Legal requirements in fiscal area as per VAT, Income Tax, Fiscalization and Procedures law.
• Monitors and drive department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy and enhancing the workflow of the department
• Guides staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
• Works with each direct report to develop operational plan and objectives for each year and monitor and advice on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.
• Inquiries from the CFO and collaborates with the other finance department managers or other firm wide managers regarding financial results, special reporting requirements and the like to support overall goals and objectives.
• Makes recommendations to the CFO for improving cost control, property management, credit and collection, tax reduction.
• Advises and support Commercial on potential Tax implications for new business models, or products and services logistics/billing.

4. Job requirements
Education and qualifications:
- University degree in economics disciplines, accounting is strong advantage
Experience: 5+ years’ experience in a similar position (10+ overall in accounting)
Languages: Excellent command of English
Personal and professional skills:
-Excellent communication skills
-Task oriented, organizational and team build and motivation skills
-Understanding of the telecom and retail business processes and operations
-Sound Finance management background
-Strong analytical skills, advanced modelling, and computer skills
-SAP deep knowledge
